“So many of our dreams seem impossible, then improbable, then inevitable.” – Christopher Reeve
Week Twenty Two
This week’s exercise allows for your artistry. You have complete permission to create the future of your dreams in full Technicolor and enthralling every one of your senses. Jump 10 years into the future: How old will you be then? Envisage yourself as completely worthy, deserving, and more than enough. Picture an absolutely abundant environment. Be inspired and dream big. Do not pay consideration to any constraints of time, money, or skill that may come up. Complete the following statements:
1) In 10 years, I feel …
2) In 10 years, I am …
3) In 10 years, I contribute by …
4) In 10 years, my achievements include …
5) In 10 years, I’ve experienced …
6) In 10 years, I love …
7) In 10 years, I’m surrounded by …
8) In 10 years, I’m a point of inspiration and influence for …
9) In 10 years, I’m helping to bring into the world …
Using these statements as source of inspiration, draft an expansive vision authentic to you. Allow yourself time, and be patient. Let go of any need for perfection. Try out different ways of writing your 10-year vision: just the facts, a story of your day 10 years in the future, a party where people are acknowledging you – there is no wrong way to write YOUR vision. You’ll know that you’re heading in the right direction when you are excited and nervous reading it.
YOUR VISION: (What your life looks and feels like in 10 years)
• is based on the idea that in 10 years ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
• articulates your greatest ambition
• supports you right now in making choices that lead you to your exciting future life
• can be changed by you at any time, it’s yours
• is not what other people want for you. It is what you want for you
This exercise benefits you by connecting you with skills you would like to acquire, experiences you would like to have, and lifestyle you would like to experience. This is what you really want and by fully embracing it you will also begin to identify how to get there.
