Ask And It Is Given: Review and coaching application

Facebooktwitterpinterestlinkedin

With this blog post, I want to share a summary of the book Ask And It Is Given: Learning To Manifest Your Desires by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The teachings of Abraham).

Esther Hicks is a channeler, inspirational speaker, and author. She writes and leads workshops with her husband sharing information from a group of non-physical entities called Abraham.

The processes in this book support understanding of your emotional guidance system and your vibrational set point. They allow us to reconnect with the nonphysical part of self so that we can achieve anything that we desire. All human physical beings have access to the non-physical, but it is often blocked. Our emotions are the key to removing these blocks.

Abraham provides a reminder that you are not separate from the divine, and that you can consciously connect to the source of the divine and your well-being through your feelings.

The Power of Awareness: Review and coaching application

This post is a review of The Power of Awareness by Neville Goddard. First published in 1952, the book contains ideas that were ahead of their time – even now they may seem far-fetched to some. It is all based on what you connect to and believe about ‘I am’. His books have influenced contemporary writers such as Rhonda Byrne and Wayne Dyer.

Neville proposes that the concept ‘I am’ is not separate from consciousness and as such is infinite. By extension, this means that man’s concept of himself determines the world in which he lives. In other words, to access the infinite everything depends on the self’s attitude towards itself.

Furthermore, since existence occurs through consciousness, changing consciousness changes existence. This means you can realize your dreams by rearranging your concept of self. Or, stated another way, you can change the outer world by changing the inner state of consciousness. You do this by assuming that your future dream has already occurred through the application of desire, imagination, and focused attention.

The Secret: Review and coaching application

This is a review of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, the first book in the series inspired by the hit documentary of the same name. The others in the series are The Power, The Magic, Hero, and The Greatest Secret. Rhonda is an Australian television writer and producer who trusted her intuition to share the inspiration that was fundamental to the brilliance of some of histories greatest masters with us all.

The Secret contains a compilation of all the teachings of those that already use the Law of Attraction for inspired action.

The main idea is that you attract what you think. That is, what you focus on the most becomes your experience. In addition to this, the way to proactively manage what you think is to use your feelings as a guide. Feelings immediately inform you about the frequency of your thoughts. And, if you feel bad there are proactive things that you can do to shift to feeling good and change your frequency in an instant.

Developing Intuition: Book review and coaching application

The book Developing intuition: Practical guidance for daily life by Shakti Gawain describes what intuition is and how to connect with it and also provides a series of supporting exercises. Shakti supports individuals worldwide with greater awareness, balance, and wholeness.

Instead of looking outside ourselves (for external authority) to guide our choices, intuition allows us to look inside (for inner authority). Where rationally there may be a logical progression with many steps, intuitively there may just be synergy taking you directly to the finish line.

Why intuition is neglected

We have inner knowing and sense of what is needed, what will be, or what feels right. That is our intuitive sense. Often, however, we discount it with counterarguments as it just feels like a hunch or gut response.

Most education and job qualifications focus on left-brain, rational, logical ability and ignore “right-brain, intuitive, holistic, creative capacities”. Our logical response is to doubt or even fear intuition. If we instead embrace it as a natural ability, it can support more effortless planning. With a shift to using intuition over systematic planning as a guiding force our lives flow and harmonize with those around us.

The Untethered Soul: Review and coaching application

I want to talk about The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer. This book is masterfully written as a guide to your own spiritual journey.

Michael is an American author, journalist, motivational speaker, founder of Temple of Universe, and founding CEO of the Medical Manager Corporation (now a subsidiary of WebMD) where he wrote groundbreaking code to help medical practitioners digitize their medical records.

Each of us has the ability to find ourselves and free ourselves. It begins by focusing on the voice running inside our heads and the recognition that if we are witnessing it, then it can’t be us. The voice expresses the pressure within. It releases energy and narrates the world outside. This gives us a sense of relationships. It also brings us a sense of control through recreating the uncontrollable external experience.

However, by identifying less with our part in our play, we gradually stop clinging to the inner world and experience the expansiveness behind our thoughts, emotions, and body. As consciousness grows we are able to move from the finite to the infinite.
